OUR STORY
My name is Amanda Mango (Yes, just like the fruit!). I'm married to my husband Patrick and we have two beautiful children, Lily and Lucas! We live in Abbotsford, British Columbia with our rescue dog Tango.
The dream of Home By Mango started in the middle of the pandemic. I received cut backs with work and started to think that this might be my time to get back into the world of being an entrepreneur. With my husband's encouragement, we decided to launch a store that featured sustainable, eco-friendly and non-toxic products. We were so excited, but then started to see the damage of the pandemic to businesses around us.
We saw businesses we loved forced to close and saw others who were struggling to stay afloat. It was then my husband Patrick and I sat down and said "what can we do to help?"
After discussing, we realized that our passion for all things small business could be turned into something! Something where we could connect small businesses with customers all in a convenient one stop online store.
So, the community of Home By Mango was born.
We revamped and relaunched our new online store to feature exclusively small businesses across BC and Canada in November of 2020, while continuing our mission to be as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible. Our dream is to be the one-stop shop for all things handmade from everyday items, to meaningful and unique gifts!
After many requests, in 2021, we decided to launch our handmade wooden gift boxes, which are hand built by my husband and I. We want to provide top quality gifting options for all occasions, such as weddings, house warming, birthday's, mother's day and more using exclusively local products. We also launched custom engraving on our box lids to add the personal touch to everyday gifts or logos for corporate gifting! All custom inquiries can be sent to homebymango@gmail.com
In March of 2022, we also launched The Mango Market in Abbotsford, B.C, which is an outdoor market that features over 50+ local businesses, food trucks and family-friendly fun!
